If you Google "Dualism" you will be given a list of definitions, many of which are associated with philosophy or religion. The simplest and most direct definition I found was: " the division of something conceptually into two opposed or contrasted aspects". You'll also find a statement that sustained exposure to dualism can contribute to stress and anxiety. If I understand the term correctly, I would have to say in retrospect that there was a lot of dualism going around in the 1960s.
